God and Evil

Reconciling a loving God with the existence of evil has always been a challenge. There are some long, complicated explanations out there, but this is my short, simple one.
God is perfect. ONLY God is perfect. Therefore, everything else - including and especially the material world - is imperfect.
What we think of as evil is actually the distortion - imperfection - of good. For example, cancer consists of excessive cellular growth, which in itself is the mechanism of life; rape is the misapplication of sex, which is the expression of conjugal love and the engine of survival.
Evil - and our tendency toward it - doesn't have to be created, it simply exists as a function of apart-ness from God.

If we allow GOD to be GOD within us - humility will pertain - and the power of knowledge will thus manifest itself as LOVE not EVIL
